MOHIT RAISES FITNESS WORRIES

- Jasvinder Sidhu sportsdesk@hindustantimes.com

MELBOURNE: Watching Mohit Sharma go through his motions during India’s nets session on Wednesday raised a few queries. As clouds thickened in the sky, the pacer appeared to be taking it rather easy.

So, was he giving himself that much-needed rest before Thursday’s quarterfinal?

Sharma neither bowled much nor at the pace one would expect a medium-fast bowler to be generating at the nets a day before the match.

Most of the time he stood in a corner with a white cookie-sized medical plaster showing on the elbow of his bowling arm.

After some time, he bowled to captain MS Dhoni from just four steps. After four deliveries to Dhoni, he returned to the corner from where he watched Stuart Binny bowl at full speed.

side in the quarterfinal.

The MCG will have a huge impact on the game. It’s a very big ground and will test the skill and fitness of the Bangladeshi boys.

There are bigger gaps and bigger boundaries to clear and the question is whether the team can adapt to the conditions.

There has been a bit of rain around the MCG and there is forecast of some more on the day of the game.

The toss will be important, for if India bat first they can actually bat the opposition out of the game. Such is their ability.
