Sticking to his guns to deal with challenges

Quitting the job of a manual scavenger was a tough decision for Mahesh Valmiki, a resident of Old City, Lucknow, who then decided to open a small tea stall. The incident garnered attention in his locality. Some members of his community informed locals about his caste after which they demolished his stall and threatened him not to set it up again. Mahesh now works at a bank in Barabanki.
