Delhi Metro asks commuters not to carry crackers

-

NEW DELHI :With just a week to go for Diwali, Delhi Metro has urged residents not to carry firecrackers or toy guns inside train compartments .

An advisory issued by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Saturday read: “We advise all passengers/general public to not carry any type of firecrackers, toy guns while travelling by the Metro.”

The move comes after previous years’ experience when the CISF had to deal with a number of such cases. “Firecrackers are banned inside the Metro premises. But during the Diwali rush it becomes difficult to make everyone understand as even families with children end up bringing them. If you allow one, everyone will ask to be let in with firecrackers,” explained a Metro official. HTC
