Police arrest college dropout for vehicle thefts

NEW DELHI: Police arrested an engineerin­g college dropout on Friday, for his involvemen­t in vehicle theft cases.

Rahul Sharma (25), a resident of Sant Nagar Extension, is an engineerin­g college dropout from a university in Punjab. Police said that he belongs to a good family, but fell into bad company and started committing vehicle theft, along with his accomplice Sagar.

“Sharma’s motive was to earn money by selling stolen motorcycle­s. He was caught while riding a stolen motorcycle in Hari Nagar. Upon enquiry, when he could not produce the original documents of the two-wheeler, police arrested him. Later it was learnt that the motorcycle had been reported stolen earlier,” said a senior police officer.

During the interrogat­ion, Sharma revealed that he had been stealing motorcycle­s ever since he dropped out of college.
