BJP expels 16 members ahead of Fbd civic polls
FARIDABAD: The BJP expelled on Monday 16 members who were either contesting as independent or campaigning against the official party nominees for the January 8 civic body polls.
The Fariabad civic poll would be the the first elections in DelhiNCR after demonetisation of high value currency notes. The BJP has intensified campaigning
“We expelled 16 party activists and leaders as they resorted to anti-party activities by either campaigning against the official BJP candidates or contesting as independents,” said Gopal Sharma, BJP Faridabad district chief.
There are 334 candidates in the fray from 40 wards, though 379 had filed nominations but 45 later withdrew.
As BJP is contesting on its symbol, its leaders are making all out efforts to ensure the party sweeps the polls so that they attribute the victory to PM Modi’s demonetisation initiative.
