Core industries output growth in November

NEW DELHI: Reflecting some impact of demonetisation, the output of India’s eight infrastructure industries in November 2016 increased by 4.9%, but fell sequentially compared to 6.6% growth logged in October. The eight core industries (ECI) grew in November at

4.9% year on year on the back of higher production of coal, steel and electricity. Cumulative growth during April to November rose by 4.9% also. The ECI comprises of nearly 38% weightage of the items included in the Index of Industrial Production . IANS
