Preeti Sudan assumes charge of food secretary

NEW DELHI: Senior IAS officer Preeti Sudan on Monday took charge as food secretary, replacing Vrinda Sarup on her superannuation. Sudan, an IAS officer of 1983 batch from Andhra Pradesh cadre, had served in various capacities in union ministries including defence and women and child development. Sudan is a M Phil in economics and proficient in Hindi, English, Punjabi and Telugu, a government statement said. PTI
