School dropouts held for snatching, robbery

NEW DELHI: The police have arrested two men from west Delhi’s Janakpuri who were involved in cases of robbery, snatching and vehicle thefts.

The accused were identified as Shivam, 26, and Harish, 25. Both are school dropouts. They stole motorcycle­s and used them in snatching incidents, police said.

Deputy Commission­er of Police (west) Vijay Kumar said informatio­n was received on Tuesday that two snatchers would come to Janakpuri around 4 pm on a stolen motorcycle. At 3.50 pm, two men came riding a Hero-Honda Passion Pro motorcycle via Pankha road and parked their bike near the gate of power discom office. The team apprehende­d them after the informer identified them. HTC NEWDELHI:Returning home after playing cricket, a 24-year-old man was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle in South-West Delhi’s Chhawla on Sunday morning.

The crime was captured by a CCTV camera and that is helping police identify the accused. The role of two youths who had fought with the victim just a few days ago is being probed.

The victim, Neeraj, was riding a scooty to his home in Roshanpura near Najafgarh and was just a few hundred metres away from home when the assailants struck. HTC
