Student raped on way to home in Dhanbad

DHANBAD: A student was raped while she was returning to her home from an examination centre at Baliapur block in Dhanbad. Police said the incident took place on Saturday when the victim was returning home alone after appearing for her home science exam. The accused, identified as Sanjay Das, was stalking the girl and forcibly took her into an abandoned hut where he committed the crime. The passersby got hold of the accused and thrashed him on the spot when the victim raised an alarm. Though the accused tried flee, villagers and passersby chased and grabbed the accused. Later, police arrested the youth.
