ASLAM WAS FOUND WITH BULLET INJURIES IN JAFRABAD. HE WAS RUSHED TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL BUT HE LATER SUCCUMBED TO HIS INJURIES

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police arrested three people and apprehended a juvenile in connection with murder of a cab driver in north east Delhi’s Jaffrabad area.

Police said that the accused men have been identified as Nafees Malik, Monty alias Imran and Kartar Singh alias Kamal.

The deceased Aslam was their friend and had allegedly spread rumours against them.

That had angered them so much that they murdered him by firing at him multiple times on February 13.

A senior police official said that Aslam allegedly used to incite the in-laws of one of the accused against their son-inlaw, which was also one of the triggers for the murder.

The incident was reported on February 13.

Aslam was found with bullet injuries in Jaffrabad.

He was rushed to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

“Nine gunshot injuries were found on Aslam’s body during post-mortem,” the officer said.

The incident took place in Jafrabad’s Chauhan Bangar gali. Aslam had come to meet one of his friends when two bikeborne men started firing at him indiscriminately,” the officer added.

Investigation suggested that the accused were aware that Aslam would be visiting the area.

A police team was formed. Based on a tip off, accused Kartar Singh was arrested and the juvenile was apprehended on February 19.

Two country made pistols and four live cartridges were recovered from their possession.

Singh led police to two of his other accomplices- Nafees Malik and Monty- who were arrested on February 23.

“It was also found that the accused had fled to GB Road after committing the murder and later, they had gone to Paharganj,” the officer said.

Aslam used to ply his cab between Khajuri Khas and Anand Vihar.

He had hired the cab from a lady doctor in Yamuna Vihar.

In the first week of February, he was arrested for being involved in a fight and had sought help from his friends.

He had asked them to get the money kept in his cab for his bail but instead of helping Aslam, they handed over the cab to its actual owner.

This angered Aslam. He accused them of taking ₹4.5 lakh from his cab and started spreading rumours about them.

One of the accused, Imran, was in a relationship with a Meerut girl through Facebook, and had got married to her in January.

Aslam allegedly used to incite his in-laws against him.

On February 13, the three accused men along with a juvenile planned a conspiracy to take revenge and shot him dead.
