first admission list for nursery classes in private unaided schools under the Economically Weaker Section/Disadvantaged Groups (EWS/DG) will come out on Tuesday after a delay of over two weeks.

Private unaided recognized schools have to keep 25% seats under the EWS/DG category. The admission under this category is centralised and is conducted by the government.

A computerized draw of lots is held and schools are allocated to students who have applied under this category. The admission process for this quota was made online in 2015.

The Delhi government had earlier extended the deadline to submit the EWS/DG forms for nursery admission to February 14 from January 31.

The first list of selected candidates was to be announced on March 7 but now they will be announced on March 21.

“The first list of selected candidates will be announced on Monday,” said an official.

Officials said the second list will come out after municipal elections. “The first list will be followed by admissions in the category. We will ensure all students selected in the list are admitted by schools. The second list, if any, will be announced post MCD elections,” officials said.

All private unaided recognized schools have to reserve 25 % seats under EWS and Disadvantaged Group (DG) quotas.
