Tired of making notes in classrooms? Use this ‘ virtual notebook’
ARE YOU tired of making notes in classrooms? Or are you not able to concentrate fully when a teacher explains any lesson in the class? If the answer to both these questions is ‘yes’, then the things are soon going to change as the students of Thapar University have came up with an innovative idea to eliminate the daily routine of making notes.
The new system would empower the students to fully concentrate on the lectures without worrying about copying everything from the board.
This innovative idea works on the principle of a ‘virtual notebook’ that includes taking still photographs of the whiteboard, the especially of the photograph is clicked only when the whiteboard is fully filled. This picture is then processed in a readable format and converted to a single pdf file and mailed it to the students.
The digitalisation of notebooks has great advantages and enormous future prospects. This innovation is in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative.
All notes are consolidated and saved in a specific file for a lifetime. Students can access the notes instantly from anywhere, thus eradicating the burden of carrying notes copy anywhere.
If this project is implemented in a classroom, we would be able to save around 4 billion trees which we cut every year. Students from rural and remote areas can also have access to notes from big universities.
