AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has decided to skip a crucial volunteers meeting in Gujarat on Sunday and instead stay in Delhi to oversee poll preparations here.

The Delhi CM was supposed to address a volunteers meeting at Chavani Maidan in Gandhinagar as part of his mission to conquer Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state which will go to polls later this year.

The booth level volunteers meeting will now be addressed by senior AAP leader and Delhi’s labour minister Gopal Rai.

The AAP had planned a rally, assuming party’s victory in Punjab polls.

The party was expecting that a win in either Punjab or Goa will give a major push to its prospects in the Delhi MCD polls and the Gujarat Assembly elections later this year.

However, the poor showing has demoralised the party workers in the national capital.
