The police on Friday arrested a domestic help for allegedly stealing articles worth ₹6.5 lakh from a house in north Delhi’s Civil Lines area.

According to police, one Rahul Chopra complained on Thursday that his mother’s jewellery, including two gold chains, two diamond earrings, two gold bangles and a gold ring, were found missing from her almirah. “In his statement, Chopra raised suspicion over their domestic help, who was employed three months ago. Initially she denied committing the offence, but later admitted to the crime. The stolen items were recovered from her house,” said Jatin Narwal, DCP north.
