History shows the pen is mightier than the sword

-

MAHATMA GANDHI AND SWAMI VIVEKANANDA ARE EXAMPLES OF WRITERS WHO MADE PEOPLE THINK DEEPLY

THE PEN is mightier than the sword. What a sharp-edged sword cannot achieve, we can achieve that with the help of a pen. It implies that the power of writing is stronger than the power of hatred, war, and fighting. A war always ends in killing and brings about defeat, death, loss... There is no end to the sufferings of war.

Our past and present are full of examples where writers have changed the world and have been able to demonstrate the power of writing and changing the world. Mahatma Gandhi, Plato, and Swami Vivekananda are some examples of globally acknowledged writers who made people cry, think and act. These writings broke national barriers and brought changes across the globe. They fought against evils in society and brought about a revolution.

Writing has built and destroyed kingdoms. It has created peace during wars and created wars during peace. Writing has made the whole world unite to fight against an evil. That is the power of writing. A fight can impact on two or more people, but a war may impact thousands of people. On the other hand, a book can shake the whole world. A book can turn darkness into light, slavery into freedom, dumbness into speech, weakness into power and poor into rich.
