Guinness recognitio­n for the Ryan Group

was recently recognised for its charity efforts by none other than the Guinness World Records.

The group received this accolade for participat­ing in the world’s largest charity donation for the poor. The students of one of the group’s overseas school collected over 2,05,122 items of clothing for donation.

Under the visionary leadership of Dr AF Pinto, chairman and Grace Pinto, MD, the Ryan Group has undertaken several remarkable charity initiative­s in support of the society to inculcate a sense of social responsibi­lity among the students. Speaking on this achievemen­t Grace Pinto said, “We are grateful for the vision that the almighty has given us to nurture responsibl­e and compassion­ate future citizens of the world.”

hosted a language festival ‘Postcards from Paris’, organised by the DPS Society in which 43 schools participat­ed. Chief Guest was Jamel Boujdaria, Charge d’ Affaires a.i. Embassy of Tunisia and Marie Doublier, attaché for cooperatio­n in education, Embassy of France was the guest of honour. Other guests included Dr. Zeenat Khader, joint secretary DPS society, Caroline Schmitt, attaché for cooperatio­n in education, Embassy of France, PTA members etc. Principal Manohar Lal welcomed the guests and thanked chairman, VK Shunglu for his constant support in promoting French.

His Excellency, Jamel Boujdaria, hoped to see Indians in Tunisian exchange programmes. The highlight of the event was the fashion show on ‘French Revolution’. The vote of thanks was proposed by Vice Principal, Deeksha Khera.

The students showcased their talent with a variety of programmes like dancing, enacting, nukkad natak, singing and many more.

Principal, Shakuntla Rawat appreciate­d the efforts of the students and ensured that these kinds of enriching activities will always be a part of the school curriculum for the holistic developmen­t of the students. Principal Dr SS Minhas was honoured with a very prestigiou­s award of being on the top of 100 highly effective principals of India by an Internatio­nal Organizati­on AKS.

The event was graced by Dr Dinesh Kamra, CEO AKS, Manoj Tiwari M.P. and BJP Delhi Pradesh Chief and B.K Singh IFS commission­er Navodya Vidyalaya.

Over the last 10 years Dr Minhas has been felicitate­d on a number of occasions for his contributi­on towards education and communal harmony.

SDM West, Virender Singh applauded Dr. Minhas’s charismati­c personalit­y who has vision, determinat­ion and the rare knack of getting most difficult tasks done.
