13-year-old girl’s horror began in August

traumatic experience of the 13-year-old — who was forced by a Delhi Police female officer to undergo the two-finger test twice after being sexually assaulted — began in August last year.

The incident started after her teacher and stepfather accused each other of sexual assault.

Back then, the girl was a Class 5 student at an MCD-run school in Outer Delhi’s Kirari. She had alleged that her Hindi teacher had been passing remarks laced with sexual innuendos for long, but she had been ignoring him.

The remarks allegedly turned physical on August 6 when she approached the teacher for help with her assignment. “The teacher asked me to meet him during lunch break. When I met him during the recess, he took me to an empty room,” the girl said.

In her complaint, the girl said that the teacher allegedly groped her. She had then gone home and narrated the incident to her mother.

The girl’s mother and stepfather alleged that when they confronted the teacher on the next working day, they were threatened. The stepfather also alleged that he was thrashed by the school staff. “When I demanded an explanation, they slapped and kicked me,” he alleged.

The school authorities, however, denied the charges and instead alleged that the girl was being sexually assaulted by her stepfather. The then school in-charge said that the staff had alerted the girl’s mother after learning that she was being sexually abused by her stepfather.

“The girl was crying and told her friends that whenever her mother was away, her stepfather would sexually abuse her,” the school in-charge said. He added that the minor’s stepfather had even signed a confession letter in front of the school staff.

The girl, however, dismissed the school version and alleged she was threatened into telling the police that it was her stepfather who was actually molesting her. Her stepfather also alleged that he was “forced” to put his thumb impression on a “confession note” that he was molesting the girl. “I am an uneducated man. I did not know the contents of the letter that they made me sign,” the stepfather alleged.
