Police suspend 3 cops after Sonepat man’s live suicide

The Delhi Police have suspended three of its officials who had been booked for abetting the suicide of a Sonepat resident Deepak Kumar, who had live-streamed his suicide on his Facebook page on Saturday.

A Delhi police spokespers­on said the three were suspended on Monday morning.

The three suspended policemen were identified as head constable Usha Bose, assistant subinspect­or Suresh Vats and head constable Arvind Kumar.

In his suicide note, scribbled on the wall of his room, Kumar had accused the three suspended police officers of harassment.

Kumar in his note has said that Usha and Suresh were having an affair. Both Usha and Suresh had been threatning to kill him for the last six monhs after he informed Usha’s husband about her extra marital affair.

Sonepat city SHO Ajay Malik said the three accused cops were absconding and raids were being carried out to nab them.

“We met DCP special cell of the Delhi police. He told us that they have suspended the accused cops and have asked them to surrender and join the investigat­ions. We are conducting raids in Delhi and Haryana to nab them. We are positive that we will be able to arrest them very soon,” he said.
