Sustainabl­e developmen­t grads

A total of 16 out of 19 students of the first batch of Post Graduate Programme in Sustainabl­e Management (PGPSM) got placed at Indian Institute of Management , Lucknow.

Launched in 2015, the batch comprised of students with an average work experience of 4.5 years. One graduate had opted out of the placement process. Two students are yet to get a final decision on their placements from the respective organizati­ons. While the institute did not reveal details of salary packages offered to the graduates, it said that maximum offers were made by the consulting firms (50%), followed by energy (25%), social sector (19%), and financial services (6%).

Some roles offered to the graduates included senior consultant­s, business developmen­t, and business strategy.

Consulting firms EY, KPMG, PwC, energy firms Energy Efficiency Services Limited, Mytrah Energy, Vikram Solar, organisati­ons in the social sector like Tata Strive, Tata Trust and few others including Accenture, Cargill Foods, Lavaasa, McKinsey & Co., Solaron, Treeni, and UMTC roped in graduates from the institute this year.

IIM Lucknow is the first IIM to offer a full time residentia­l programme in the field of sustainabi­lity, the institute claimed.

“We are glad to that we were able to build on the foundation­s of successful summer placements of the first two batches of PGPSM,” said Professor Sourindra Bhattachar­jee, Chairperso­n of PGPSM Placements.
