Zaheer meets his special one, but Anil Kumble congratulates the wrong Sagarika
Zaheer Khan’s announcement about his engagement with actor Sagarika Ghatge set the social media abuzz on Monday.
Joining the long-list of well-wishers were Indian cricket team coach Anil Kumble but he made a goof-up.
It was a case of mistaken identity for Kumble as he tagged the wrong Sagarika while wishing his former teammate.
The former India leg-spinner instead of tagging the actor mistakenly tagged Sagarika Ghose, who is a prominent journalist.
Kumble’s first tweet was: “Congratulations @ImZaheer and @sagarikaghose! Wishing you the very best!” But he soon realised the goof-up and immediately deleted the tweet and posted a new one.
The new message was similar to the first one with just the name of the bride corrected.
“Congratulations @ImZaheer and @sagarikavghatge! Wishing you the very best!” read the tweet.
Kumble wasn’t the only one to send out a wrong tweet. Delhi Daredevils, who are being led by Zaheer in 2017 Indian Premier League, were also caught in the mix-up, tagging Sagarika Ghose instead of Ghatge.
But they too later rectified their mistake, tweeting: “Heartiest Congratulations to our #Dilliboy @ImZaheer & #Sagarika wishing this beautiful couple a spectacular life ahead!”
Sagarika Ghose saw the funny side and responded to the Delhi Daredevils tweet with this one: “oops wrong Sagarika, sirs! Main do bachche ki ma hoon.” Congratulatory messages started pouring in for the couple on Monday soon after Zaheer had posted a pic of both with a caption: “Never laugh at your wife’s choices. You are one of them !!! Partners for life. #engaged @sagarikavghatge”.
