In a format where economy rate is as valuable as wickets, Mumbai Indians’ Harbhajan Singh has been the standout bowler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season.

The veteran off-spinner, who has maintained an impressive economy rate of less than six runs per over in seven games so far, looks a rejuvenated bowler in the IPL after having missed domestic cricket.

Excerpts: An expat pilot with Jet Airways hurled “racist” comments at and physically assaulted a lady on a flight, Harbhajan claimed.

“So called this Bernd Hoesslin a pilot with @jetairways called my fellow Indian (u bloody indian get out of my flight) while he is earning here,” Harbhajan said in a series of tweets. Later, the airline derostered the pilot. The incident aboard a ChandigarhMumbai Jet flight on April 3.

Expressing regret over the incident, the airline said corrective action would be taken. that’s kept me going. Cricket is part of my life. But my wife and daughter are my life.

BHAJJI TWEET SPELLS TROUBLE FOR AIRLINE PILOT

Obviously, it has been tough. Last year, my wife was expecting and my baby was born so I didn’t play domestic cricket. Had I played, I am sure I would have played some of the Test matches at home. And on the kind of wickets we are playing, where the ball spins from the first ball itself, I would have got a few wickets. This was rarely (wickets that support spin) the case earlier when we played.

I am working hard on my game and looking forward to making a comeback in the one-day squad. I can deliver at the highest level against the best in the business.
