Security guard murdered in Connaught Place building

30-year-old security guard was found murdered at a building in Barakhamba Road in New Delhi on Sunday morning. Jitender Shukla, originally from Sultanpuri in Uttar Pradesh was stabbed with a screw driver inside an office.

The incident came to light to when a security guard who was in the day shift came to the office and found the door locked from inside.

The man told police that he along with other guards in the building broke open the door and found Shukla on the ground with stab injuries on his neck. Shukla worked in the ground floor office of the Indra Prakash building.

Investigat­ing official said prima facie, it appears the killers may have entered the office from the window at the back because the window was open.

Shukla was on night shift on Saturday. His colleagues told police that Shukla’s usually locked the office from inside when he was on night shift.

Shukla lived with his wife and son in Khoda colony in east Delhi. He was employed as a guard in the building for the last 7 months.

Police said there is a CCTV in the office room but it was not working and has not been of much help. Police have registered a case of murder. “We suspect someone known to Shukla may have murdered him. We are scanning the footage from other CCTV cameras,”
