Kalpit Veerval, hailing from Udaipur in Rajasthan, has topped the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Main with a perfect 100% score. The results of the exam conducted for admission to various engineering colleges, including the premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), were declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday
Kalpit, who has scored 360 out of 360 in the JEE-Main, had earlier topped the Indian Junior Science Olympiad and the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE).
Over 10.2 lakh students had appeared for the exam at 1,781 centres across the country.
The examination was held on 2 April (offline) and 8 and 9 April (online). Candidates clearing the JEE-Main will be eligible to appear in the JEE-Advanced exam, 2017.
The JEE is conducted for admission to B.Tech, BE and B.Arch programmes offered at IITs, NITs, IIITs and other government-approved engineering institutes.
The Central Board of Second- ary Education (CBSE) has declared the results of the Join Entrance Examination(JEE) (Main) 2017 on Thursday. The examination was held on 2 April and the results will be available on the Board’s official website.
The results include the JEE (Main) Paper 1 score and rank and also the list of top 2, 20,000 candidates eligible for JEE (Advanced).
Merit among candidates will be decided as per higher marks in mathematics and physics and ratio of positive and negative marks. A candidate with a higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
The 17-year-old girl bagged the All India Rank 1 among girls and wants to get into the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, Rathi has scored 321—105 in physics, 106 in chemistry and 110 in mathematics—out of 360 in the JEE Mains to get an overall India rank of 71d. She added her plan is now to put in more efforts for the JEE Advanced exam on 21 May and maintain her score and rank, HT reports.
