HCL unveils career training course for 10+2 students

HCL unveils TechBee - HCL Early Career Training Program in Madurai. The programme is aimed to provide software engineerin­g jobs to bright 10+2 students.

HCL’s new people strategy for 10+2 students aims to offer software engineerin­g jobs by equipping them with the future ready skills. The first batch with students from Madurai and nearby areas started today.

Leveraging the demographi­c dividend in Rural India, this program contribute­s to the “Skill India” mission. Through this programme, a 10+2 student will gain skills to do a software engineer job with HCL and also enroll into Masters in IT program. Students who have joined this programme have a minimum 85% marks in their 12th exam with maths as a subject.

Over 1000 employees support key clients from the HCL Madurai facility inaugurate­d in September last year. Spread over 6.75 acres this center can scale up to 4500 employees and is witness to first of its kind ‘all female employees’ onsite delivery center for the Financial Services.

HCL in Madurai offers the educated youth of the city, an opportunit­y to develop global careers right in their own city, without the need to migrate to metros for employment in future.

Speaking at the occasion Srimathi Shivashank­ar, vice -president, HCL Technologi­es said, “We are excited to commence the first batch of TechBee – HCL Early Career Training Program in Madurai. The program will prepare these students technicall­y and profession­ally for jobs in software engineerin­g with us. This effort from HCL will enable students with early career aspiration­s to become self- sufficient and also pursue Higher education. We are looking forward to working with local schools both in Madurai and in neighbouri­ng districts”
