‘250 children given TCs for not paying fees’

of students in two branches of a private school in Dwarka have alleged that around 250 children were issued transfer certificat­es for allegedly not paying their fees, though the institute management said the number stood at just 41.

“41 students were issued TCs as they defaulted on fees,” Presidium School CEO GS Matharoo said.

However, president of Dwarka Parents Associatio­n Aprajita alleged, “Around 200 children studying in Presidium School in Dwarka Sector 16B and around 50 students in its another branch have been issued transfer certificat­es.” PTI

Police and fire officials on Saturday rescued five persons who were trapped in a building in west Delhi’s Inderpuri after a neighbouri­ng fourstorey­ed structure leaned precarious­ly and rested on it during the wee hours.

The unoccupied four-storeyed structure had started leaning around 3 AM and rested dangerousl­y on the nearby building, whose occupants were sleeping at the time of the incident, officials said.

The locals tried to help out the people trapped within the building and informed the Fire Service and police.

“We got a call about a collapsing building around 3.30am. We rescued fiver persons and no one was injured,” said a senior police officer.

A case has been registered in the matter and further probe is underway. The owner of the tilted structure is being questioned, he said.

The North Delhi Municipal Corporatio­n officials said the debris of the tilted structure was being removed.
