All three (Arvind Kejriwal, Kapil Mishra and Satyendar Jain) should take the (liedetector) test. We also support that. This will make sure that the people of Delhi know the truth.

Congress on Monday wrote to Delhi lieutenantgovernor Anil Baijal, asking for his sanction to prosecute chief minister Arvind Kejriwal under Section 19 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and 197 of CrPC, on the basis of the Shunglu committee report.

Addressing a press conference at the DPCC office here on Monday, Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said the Shunglu Committee report was submitted to the L-G on November 27, 2016 and almost seven months have passed without any action on it.

“Neither the L-G nor the BJPled Union government have taken any action against the Kejriwal government. The report found various cases of corruption, nepotism and favouritism after examining 404 files pertaining to various decisions by the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi, but the Centre has not taken any action till now,” the Delhi Congress chief said.

The three-member committee, headed by former Comptroller and Auditor General VK Shunglu, was formed by then L-G Najeeb Jung after the Delhi High Court in August 2016 said the L-G was Delhi’s administrative head.

If the L-G does not give permission to prosecute Kejriwal and his ministers, he will go to the designated court as a private citizen to prosecute the AAP supremo and his ministers, Maken said.

According to him, as demanded by former water minister Kapil Mishra, all the three AAP leaders — Kejriwal, health minister Satyendar Jain and Mishra — should take the lie-detector test. “All three should take the test. We also support that. This will make sure that the people of Delhi know the truth,” the Delhi PCC president said.
