UNRELENTING Sacked minister seeks details of AAP leaders’ trips abroad, asks from where did party get the money I didn’t have so many details while I was a minister. Even in the last few days, I have been receiving calls from people giving me details of corruption in the party.

Sacked Delhi minister Kapil Mishra started an indefinite hunger strike at his official residence in north Delhi’s Civil Lines on Wednesday demanding that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal should release details of foreign trips made by five Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders.

Mishra, who was sacked as the water and tourism minister on May 6, said in an open letter to Kejriwal that he was staging a satyagraha and not a dharna . He demanded details of foreign travel by AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Ashish Khetan, Satyendar Jain, Raghav Chaddha and Durgesh Pathak.

“I am not seeking anyone’s resignation or any other political demand. I am only seeking information about foreign trips by these five people. We were always told there was no money to fight elections, then how did these people go on foreign trips,” he said.

Later in the day, Mishra was allegedly attacked by a man who claimed to be an AAP volunteer. The party, however, denied it and said he was a BJP activist.

The man jumped on Mishra before police officials and his aides caught hold of him.

“The guy came running, put his hands on my neck and said he would kill me. My aides caught hold of him and the police came and whisked him away,” said Mishra. He said his hunger strike would continue.

The former minister, who filed a complaint against Kejriwal with the CBI on Tuesday, said he wasn’t aware of all the foreign trips undertaken by his former colleagues when he was a minister.

“I didn’t have so many details while I was a minister. Even in the last few days, I have been receiving calls from people giving me details of corruption in the party,” he said.

Mishra wrote that if the

details he is seeking are made public, then people will let Kejriwal continue in the government.

“Where did the money come for these foreign trips and how much money was spent?

Where did all these people go and why? And whose money was it? We were told there was no money to fight elections then where did the money come for these trips? It’s a small demand. If there is nothing to hide then it will take only five minutes to release the details,” he stated in the letter.

Mishra said the AAP should stop saying he is a BJP agent. “Why are you asking today? Why didn’t you ask earlier,” wrote Mishra, whose mother, Annapurna Mishra, is a former BJP mayor.
