COPS SAY THE DELHIBASED LAWYER WHO WAS HELD FOR LAYING A HONEY TRAP AND EXTORTING MONEY FROM GUJARAT MP KC PATEL, HAD FILED SEXUAL HARASSMENT CASES AGAINST OTHER MINISTERS AND POLICE OFFICERS EARLIER

Delhi-based lawyer, arrested for allegedly honeytrapping and extorting Gujarat BJP MP KC Patel, had earlier filed cases of sexual offence against other ministers and police officers, Delhi Police told a city court on Friday.

The police on Friday also filed an action taken report in court on allegations of rape by the lawyer against the Patel.

Police said that the woman had first approached them for registration of a rape case against Patel, but later retracted her allegations. Similarly, she had also retracted her claims in earlier cases as well, since her intention was only to extort money, the police told the court.

The court then asked the counsel appearing for the woman to apprise it on whether there were similar complaints filed by her against others, as argued by public prosecutor Atul Kumar Shrivastava.

The counsel said that he needed time to verify the fact from his client. The court then directed him to file the response after discussing with his client and posted the matter for further hearing on May 18.

The woman had approached the court alleging that the police did not cooperate and refused to lodge an FIR on her complaint. The court had then directed police to file an action taken report in the case.

The woman has alleged that she was raped by the politician several times at his official residence and other places.

She also added that the MP had threatened her of dire consequences if she reported the incident to anyone.

The woman was arrested by the police on May 2 on the MP’s complaint that she ahd honeytrapped and tried to extort ₹5 crore from him.

The BJP leader alleged in his police complaint that the woman befriended him and took him to her home in Ghaziabad to meet her family. He said she gave him a spiked drink, clicked objectionable pictures of him in an unconscious state, and threatened to make the photos public if he didn’t pay up.
