Delhi chief minister Kejriwal.

“Delhi police took no action when Kapil Mishra sat on a dharna, but when I tried the same, it detained me. The police, the Centre and Mishra are handin-glove. I will continue my hunger strike against Mishra wherever the police takes me,” Jha said minutes before being taken away by the police in a bus.

Police said Jha and supporters were detained when they were marching towards Kapil Misha’s home to sit on a protest.

“It is a preventive detention. They were kept at Sarai Rohilla police station,” said a cop.

“One cannot be allowed to sit on a protest outside somebody’s house. Jha can sit on a hunger strike at his own house, like Mishra is doing. Jha was even given the option to stage his protest at Jantar Mantar. But he refused, because of which he was detained,” the officer said.

Jha’s supporters said police were fully prepared and had barricaded the road about 300m away from Mishra’s house.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rebel Kapil Mishra has said he will make another “expose” on Sunday, which, he claimed, would leave no “moral right” for Arvind Kejriwal to remain the Delhi chief minister.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, axed minister Mishra, who has been on a hunger strike for four days, said he would reveal more facts about Kejriwal at 11 am on Sunday. “This time, the expose is not related to Raghav Chadha or Durgesh Pathak. After I reveal the truth, Kejriwalji will have no moral right to be Delhi’s CM. The truth is so bitter that people would feel cheated by AAP and will stop trusting the party,” he said.

Mishra accused Kejriwal of using AAP MLAs as a “shield” after party legislator Sanjeev Jha announced a hunger strike to counter his ongoing fast.

Jha, an MLA from Burari, wrote an open letter to Mishra before beginning his planned hunger strike on Saturday.

“On May 7, Kapil Mishra had said that Arvind Kejriwal had met Satyendar Jain where he paid him ₹2 crore. My question to him is at what time did he meet the chief minister? Which car did he use? I have the entire day’s video footage,” he wrote.

“The whole world knows about Kejriwal’s credentials and he (Mishra) should give evidence to back his claim. If it turns out to be true, even I will join him in his hunger strike against Kejriwal,” Jha said.

Mishra hit back at Jha with another open letter and “advised” him to drink lots of water during the hunger strike. “You (Kejriwal) made a strategy to use MLAs as a shield. Only one MLA came forward to be that shield?” Mishra said.

Ankit Bhardwaj, executive member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Delhi, on Saturday said he has sent a notice to AAP, its convener Arvind kejriwal, and senior leader Sanjay Singh for naming him in Kapil Mishra attack case.

On May 10, Bhardwaj’s namesake, a chartered accountant who said he was an AAP worker, had tried to attack Mishra at his residence, where he is at a hunger strike. Soon after the alleged assault, the AAP members had found a Facebook account in the name of BJYM member Bhardwaj and claimed he was the man involved in the fracas.
