Two, including a woman, arrested for flesh trade

-

Police on Monday arrested two persons, including a woman, for their alleged involvement in flesh trade.

Gaurav Anand and Nina Soni have been involved in several criminal cases, including a case of gang rape. “On May15, information was received that Anand and Soni will come towards Garhi village. Following the input a trap was laid and both the accused persons were apprehended,” Romil Baaniya, DCP southeast, said.

During questioning Anand, who has reportedly been declared a proclaimed offender by the court, confessed that he and Soni used to provide sex workers to their clients in Delhi and NCR.

“They acted as middlemen to provide sex workers to clients across Delhi. In order to evade arrest they frequently used to change their locations and hideouts in every two to three months. We had been looking for them for the past few months and they were finally arrested on May 15. They will now be produced in the court concerned ,” a police officer said.

Police said that Anand used to work as a driver in call centre but was fired after he reportedly misbehaved with the management over a salary issue. Due to loss of job, he started having trouble at home and often fought with his wife. “Following an altercation with her, he left home and it is then when he came in touch with Soni, who was already involved in the racket of flesh trade. He then started living with her and later joined her in the business,” a police officer said.

While Gaurav is involved in cases of Arms Act and gang rape, Soni too is involved in three criminal cases and is a proclaimed offender. HTC
