Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in order to consolidate and revamp its booth-level structure and management in its home turf Delhi, has decided to launch a programme titled ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’.

The party will launch the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’ campaign on May 21 at a statewide convention scheduled to be held at Punjabi Bagh Club.

The aim of the programme, party leaders said, would be to create a cadre base that works at the grassroots level not only during election time, but also regularly throughout the year.

The decision to revamp the party structure and appoint one mandal adhyaksh for each polling station in the city comes after the party’s electoral loss in the recently held municipal elections. Around 3,500 mandal adhyakshs are being appointed, who will have t the responsibility of strengthening the organizational network at the booth-level.

“The party has decided that every single person associated with the party — be it the chief minister, ministers, MLAs, councillors or party office bearers —will have to take charge of organisational building in their own polling booth,” said AAP (Delhi) convener Gopal Rai.

Delhi chief minister and party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal will be in-charge of organisational building in the Civil Lines area while, Gopal Rai will be incharge of the area he resides in, Babarpur.

Rai said the decision to revamp the party at the grassroots was taken after a three-week long feedback exercise undertaken with various stakeholders of AAP’s Delhi unit. The leadership of the party said the exercise saw participation from newly elected councillors, candidates who contested the MCD elections and MLAs along with every office bearer of the party in Delhi.
