Mishra apologises to Yadav, Bhushan

-

Reaching out to ex-AAP leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan, suspended AAP legislator and former water minister Kapil Mishra apologised to the two leaders for his ‘conduct, language and his role in their ouster from AAP’.

Addressing reporters at his residence, Mishra called upon all former India Against Corruption volunteers, who left the movement and the AAP, to join hands to ensure a ‘Kejriwal-free’ and ‘corruption-free’ Delhi.

Mishra launched a ‘Lets Clean AAP Campaign’ and issued a mobile number, requesting people to join the campaign by giving a missed call on the number.

“I have realised the wrongdoings in the party now. Many people realised these things before and left. But we have to ensure that the party is not left to some corrupt people…I especially want to apologise to Prashant Bhushan ji, Yogendra Yadav ji and to all those who raised their voice against brewing corruptions in the party but I did not pay heed,” Mishra told reporters.

Yadav asked Mishra to decide if his apology is out of remorse or revenge even as he advised him to seek apology not from him, rather from volunteers.

“I would like to know if this apology is out of remorse or revenge. If remorse, then I would like him to apologise to the thousands of party workers whom he feels may have been let down and reveal the gospel truth about the internal politics that were twined into the party when I left it,” Yadav said, and also advised Mishra to hold ‘maun vrat’ and reduce the number of press conferences.

Yadav and Bhushan were expelled from AAP in April 2015 for “anti-party activities”. Mishra, then a close confidante of Kejriwal, had played an instrumental role in their ouster as he ran a signature campaign against the duo. Mishra was also alleged to be most ‘vocal’ and ‘aggressive’ at the venue of the national council where the decision to oust the AAP leaders was taken.

Reiterating that he would remain in AAP and cleanse it by getting rid of few ‘corrupt’ leaders who have hijacked the party, Mishra launched a campaign calling on all former party members and people to join the endeavour. HTC
