Drug trafficker held with heroin worth ₹20 crore

A special cell arrested a 31-year-old Madhya Pradeshbas­ed suspected drug dealer from the capital with five kilograms of heroin that is worth ₹20 crore in the internatio­nal market, Delhi Police said on Friday.

Nand Kishore Joshi, a resident of MP’s Mandsaur, was arrested on June 19 from near Hanuman Mandir on Outer Ring Road, based on a tip-off said PS Kushwah, deputy commission­er of police (special cell).

“During the interrogat­ion, Joshi revealed that he was a driver, who came in contact with a person in Mandsaur and was lured into drug traffickin­g. He subsequent­ly learnt preparatio­n of heroin from opium, and has been in the business for the last five years,” said the DCP.
