Eid holiday: Admission process to take a break on Monday

-

With the national capital set to celebrate Eid on Monday, the Delhi University colleges will not be conducting their admission procedures on Monday. The process will resume on Tuesday.

After the cutoff lists are released, eligible students visit different colleges to get their documents verified, their best four score confirmed, and admission approved. The first cutoff list for this year was released on Saturday, and students have until Wednesday to get seats confirmed in the 60 odd DU colleges, if they have cleared the cutoff requirements.

However, with Eid falling on Monday, this procedure will be temporarily paused to be resumed on Tuesday.

“Even though admissions under the first cutoff list will be done only till Wednesday, applicants will have until 12 noon on Thursday to pay their admission fees,” said Gurpreet Singh Tuteja, the deputy dean of student welfare.

The long weekend has caused some worries for outstation students, as they have to stay two more days in the city. “We had first considered coming to Delhi on Tuesday, so that we won’t be stuck in the holiday in between. But then we were worried, what if something goes wrong and we need more than just two days for admission? So we came to Delhi on Saturday itself,” said Ishara Ahmed, mother of a BCom aspirant from Karnataka. HTC
