The Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) will launch its housing scheme on June 30.

DDA vice-chairman Udai Pratap Singh told HT that formalities were over and the scheme would be launched on the month-end.

Principal commissioner (housing), DDA, JP Agarwal, said the forms and brochures will be available in select branches of banks in Delhi from June 30 to August 9.

The scheme has been linked with the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna which means people fulfilling the criteria will get subsidy in the interest when they take a bank loan, he said.

“For a person to be applicable to get the benefits of Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna, one should not have a concrete house in Delhi, their income should be under ₹3 lakh annually if they are applying for houses under EWS category. Besides, there are other riders,” he said.

The DDA has chalked out the modalities like printing of brochures to linking with partnering banks.

The land owning agency is offering around 13,000 flats under the scheme, of which 350 are two-room middle income group (MIG) flats. The rest are either one-bedroom lower income group flats (LIG) flats or janta flats.

Ending the speculation on whether DDA will put a five-year sale embargo, he said DDA is not putting any such restriction and a person will be free to sell these flats whenever they want.

However, unlike earlier years, people whose names figure in the lucky draw of lots will have to purchase the flats, else their registration amount will be forfeited, he said.

The registration amount is ₹1 lakh for LIG and Janta flats and ₹2 lakh for MIG and HIG flats.
