THE MATTER CAME TO THE NOTICE WHEN THE GIRL’S BROTHER CAUGHT THE MAN IN THE ACT

Six unidentified persons allegedly stabbed a 23-yearold man and robbed him of his bike, cash and mobile phone in Loni on Wednesday night following an on-road collision.

The victim’s family said that the man had to get eight stitches to his abdomen due to the stabbing.

Saif Saifi of Murad Nagar, who works as a fabricator, was on his way from Murad Nagar to Loni to meet his relatives.

The six unidentified men were riding triple on two bikes, one of which collided with his Pulsar, Saif said.

“On the road leading to Tila Morh, they suddenly stopped their bike and it hit mine. Their bike got damaged a bit but I said I would get it repaired. Then they asked me to board their bike, saying that I might flee and not pay for the repairs. I sat on one of their bikes and they drove me to a jungle area,” Saif said.

“Midway, one of them stabbed me in the abdomen, which resulted in eight stitches. They took me to an unknown location and beat me up. They took ₹2,000, my mobile phone and my bike. They took me around two kilometres from the spot and dumped me. When I became conscious, I reached a police post and told them about the incident,” he said.

His family members said they got Saif’s call and reached Loni around 10pm. “Meanwhile, the police had taken him to a private hospital and he was treated. They also registered a complaint into the incident. He was then discharged and brought home,” said Ishtiyaq, Saif’s father.

The Loni police denied the incident was one of robbery and said that it was a road rage incident, in which one of two bikes of locals got damaged.

“The men were from Sangam Vihar area and had taken the victim to their house to get compensation for the damage caused to the bike. They were demanding more money but he was unable to pay the desired amount and was beaten up. It is possible that he suffered the abdominal injury during the incident. I was not aware of the incident earlier. We will immediately register a case against the attackers,” said Srikant Prajapati, circle officer (Loni).

22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly repeatedly raping a 10-year-old mentally challenged girl in outer Delhi’s Miawali Nagar.

According to the police, Shankar Singh used to take the girl to his house while his parents were away and sexually abused her on many occasions. He would then drop the girl back to her house. Since she was mentally unstable, she could not convey it to her parents.

The matter came to the notice when the girl’s brother caught the man in the act. He alerted the locals. The man was beaten up and handed over to the police.

“The girl tried to complain to her parents about the man but they could not understand what she was trying to say. The girl’s mother said she had stopped eating or going out. Her mother said he daughter would not let her go out of the house. She said she could not understand why the girl was behaving like that. She also said that the girl complained about pain in her abdomen but the family did not take it seriously,” a senior police officer said.

Shankar Singh was a tenant and lived on the ground floor, while the girl lived on the first floor. “He had allegedly been raping her for the past one week. The girls brother happened to reach home early on Tuesday and caught him. He heard his sister crying. When Singh saw the girl’s brother he fled but was later caught,” a police officer said.

A case under the POCSO (protection of child against sexual offences) has been registered and Singh has been arrested. The girl was taken for medical examination and an NGO is counselling her.

The girl’s father works as a labourer and her mother is a domestic help. “They often left her at home alone and went out for work. This is when Singh used to go to her house and take her along,” a senior police officer said.
