30 year old woman suffered severe injuries after she allegedly jumped 30-feet down from the Kaushambi metro station.

The incident took place around 3pm on Saturday. The woman was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.

Police said that the woman identified herself as Sunita and her husband as one Om Prakash in the hospital.

She told the cops that she stayed at Sector-15, Vasundhara, before falling unconscious.

“We rushed her to Yashoda Hospital where she is admitted in the ICU. We received information about the incident after some locals called up the control room to tell us that a woman had jumped off from the metro station. After revealing brief details about herself, she fell unconscious. We are waiting for her to regain consciousness so that we can record her statements. Prima facie, it seems like she jumped off and hit the ground near the parking area. She fell down from a height of nearly 30 feet,” said a police officer from Kaushambi police post.

The doctors at Yashoda Hospital, Kaushambi, said that the woman was in a critical state and on ventilator support.

“Most of the injuries are to her pelvic region where she suffered multiple injuries. She is on ventilator support and in a critical state. Going by her injuries, we suspect that she fell down straight and not head on. Her treatment is continuing,” said Dr Sunil Dagar, spokesperson of the hospital.

Police, later, said they had not been able to trace the house of the victim till late on Saturday evening.

“Our teams are trying to trace her house in Vasundhara Sector-15. We hope that she regains consciousness and tells us what might have forced her to take the extreme step,” said SC Dubey, station house officer, Indirapuram.
