Ayush Chaudhary, a Class 9 student at VV DAV Public School, Vikaspuri, says he considers himself lucky because his parents devote a considerable amount of time for him. Often, they discuss with Ayush his day-to-day concerns as well as his progress in studies.

Another student, Harshit Bansal, from Class 7B at St Cecilia’s Public School, Vikaspuri, emphasised on the importance of guidance from parents, grandparents as well as the other elders.

These valuable inputs from their elders in the family is what motivates them to battle on in the midst of tough challenges and helps them take the right path and choices in life. He, however, also admitted that not all parents manage to spend adequate time with their children due to a wide range of reasons, including professional ones due to which some children end up missing the right advice at such crucial moments in their young lives.

Elaborating on the numerous daily activities that she takes part in the company of parents, Preeti, who is enrolled with the Government Senior Secondary School, Vikaspuri, mentioned shopping for daily necessities, strolls in the park and supper. The Class 10 pupil mostly performs these in her mother’s company largely because it is she who is available at home on most days. However, she also keenly looks forward to her father’s presence during the family supper, which he tends to miss out on a few days because of work exigencies.
