and Ruchi Sehgal. The first session was on standardis­ed testing of English and CEFR (Common European Framework by reference). It was a detailed descriptio­n of learner level by skill in a language-neutral format. The CEFR helped the trainees to understand the different levels of language proficienc­y. It also showcases how the learners progress through the levels. This informatio­n equipped teachers to get a better idea of how to break down the learning for each CEFR level into different classes within their schools.

The training module also incorporat­ed the teaching of various language functions, pronunciat­ion, phonetics, classroom management during speaking and listening activities. The workshop was an elevating and enlighteni­ng experience that acquainted the teachers with Communicat­ive Language Teaching (CLT), gave practice of CLT activities and helped gain a practical understand­ing, practise examining and grading of Birla Vidya Niketan launched a cultural exchange programme with Institue Gestalt in Murelia, Mexico.The meeting began with students from both the countries creating profiles and enlisting interests, specialtie­s and location, followed by a cultural exchange. Two video conferenci­ng sessions took place in May, the first of which was about Indian and Mexican Dishes. It was also the subject of a quiz contest. The next session, Customs and Traditions of India, included dances by participan­ts from both sides, dressed in traditiona­l costumes, presented dances.
