Describing the Arvind Kejriwal as ‘U-turn’ government, leader of opposition Vijender Gupta said on Friday that the BJP legislators will corner the government during the upcoming monsoon session on a host of issues.

Addressing reporters at Delhi assembly along with fellow BJP legislators, Gupta said the AAP government was resorting to unconstitutional measures for repression of the opposition and senior government officers.

“The government has completed half of its term. It claimed to have done revolutionary work in healthcare. But as per a circular issued by the health secretary, the chief minister had seen the recent status report on the availability of medicines, surgical consumables and equipments in the different hospitals and observed that the performance is much below the mark,” said Gupta.

“The promise of opening 1000 mohalla clinics is nowhere in sight,” he said.

The Rohini legislator said he will also expose how the government formed ‘unconstitutional’ house committees such as special inquiry committees (SIC) and the department related standing committees (DRSCs).

“The legal opinion of the Additional Solicitor General which was reported is clear on the subject. He has opined that these committees are nothing, but abuse of power and have been setup in contravention of the constitutional provisions and also the doctrine of separation of powers of the deliberative and executive wings of the Government,” he said.

The BJP leader alleged that these committees are taking over executive, judicial and investigative functioning of the government.

“The fact is that these committees have been constituted primarily to settle score with senior IAS, DANICS, allied services and other officers. They are being made to fall in line through humiliation, grilling and questioning in the house panels,” he said.
