those like “Dil Chahta Hai”, “Rock on” and “Roop Tera Mastana” on the Friday Jam stage. The six-member Rocknaama band, includes Vicky on the keyboard, Shaheen on vocals, Punit Saluja on the guitar, Surojit Samanta on bass, Arghya Banerjee on the drums and Kamal Kumar as percussionist.

The highlight of the evening, however, was Akshay Kumar, whose arrival created waves of excitement among the crowd with the entire DLF Cyber Hub cheering the superstar as he spoke about his upcoming movie “Toile: Ek Prem Katha”.

Diane and Dean Coffey, authors of “Where India goes: abandoned toilets, stunted development and the costs of caste”, who were also present at the occasion, talked about the importance of toilets in the progress of a society. They were felicitated along with two women, Jabna Chauhan and Priyanka Bharti, who have fought against evil practices that prevails in society.

Bharti, after her marriage, demanded a toilet at her in-laws house and as a result became the talk of the town. Her story is very similar to the plot of the movie “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”.

Chauhan, on the hand, was the youngest female Sarpanch of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh and has worked hard to secure the status of cleanest panchyat for Mandi.

Both Bharti and Chauhan, along with the team of the movie, used the occasion of the last Friday Jam to make people aware about the importance of sanitation. “Every household should have toilets in the country. This is a basic requirement, like food and water,” Akshay Kumar said addressing the crowd.

On the last day of Season 4 of Friday Jam, residents said that they will miss the musical event. “We have been participating in the event for the past one month. We always looked forward to Fridays with enthusiasm,” said Sonia Kalara, resident of DLF Phase-III.

I have been a regular visitor and have always enjoyed being a part of HT Friday Jam ever since it started. I had fun with my friends. We took lots of pictures of the musical event. It has been a very good show so far. Fresh talent and quality music are what we have been demanding in this city, which lacks cultural evenings. We will be looking forward to the event’s next season.
