Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer turned 36 on Tuesday and there was no shortage of gifts or congratulatory messages for the 19-time Grand Slam winner.

Wimbledon tweeted that they had gifted Roger Federer a collage of him celebrating all his eight Wimbledon titles, starting from his first in 2003 to his latest, which he won last month.

Federer’s 18th Grand Slam came earlier this year in Australia.

The Australian Open tweeted a 36-second video of him winning the tournament to mark his birthday.

At 36, when most sportspersons would be looking to wind down their careers, Federer is only getting better.

Most observers believe that his game has never been better.

The Swiss great has a 31-2 record this year, including the two Grand Slam titles and two ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles.

As if things couldn’t get any better, Federer could become the number one ranked player during the ongoing hard court season; he currently stands third behind Briton Andy Murray and Spaniard Rafael Nadal.

On a lighter note, Federer, in a recent promotional video, revealed that he is scared of dogs.

“I’m a little bit scared of dogs to be honest,” Federer said.

After a few minutes, he started to relax and played with the excitable pups.

“At the end of the day, I do love dogs but I just haven’t spent enough time with them,” he said.“We always used to have cat. With all the travelling over the last 20 years, it’s been impossible to have pets but we’ll have a dog some day.”

Roger Federer was given puppies by his racket sponsors Wilson to mark their 19 years of association.
