Mahajan launches BJP’s ‘Bharat Jodo’ campaign

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi has planned a three-week long mass campaign to connect with youths with national flag as its central theme. The first programme—which is part of ‘Bharat Jodo Abhiyan’— was held on Wednesday evening at Vijay Chowk on the 75th anniversary of the Quit India movement.

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president and Lok Sabha member from Mumbai North Central Poonam Mahajan handed over the national flag to youth leaders of Delhi BJP and other states in the presence of union ministers Ananth Kumar, Kirren Rijiju, Babul Supriyo and local unit chief Manoj Tiwari.

Speaking at the event, Mahajan urged workers to organise similar events in their respective districts . “Just as the Quit India movement was a watershed moment in the history of Indian Struggle for Independence, ‘Bharat Jodo Abhiyan’ will be a landmark in bringing the youth together in the nation building process,” said Mahajan.

Retired military personnel, OROP beneficiaries and war widows were also felicitated at the event.

“The idea is to create a ‘New India’, unified in the quest for development and equality for all, at the center of India’s development agenda. The campaign is also against divisive forces within the nation,” said Impreet Singh Bakshi, vice president of Delhi BJP’s youth wing.

On August 16, the Delhi BJP will kick start its 15-day ‘tiranga yatra’ aiming instil nationalism in young population.

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said all Lok Sabha MPs, MLAs, office bearers, and workers will go to their respective areas across the city holding the tricolour.
