Woman shoots woman in Noida, cops suspect ‘illicit relationship’
A 28-year-old woman named Kanchan was allegedly shot by an unidentified woman on Wednesday morning in Salarpur area in Noida’s Sector 107. Police say that the woman stayed there with a man and suspect ‘illicit relationship’ to be the cause of the murder.
The unidentified woman, police said, was accompanied by a man on a motorcycle.
A local named Saurabh said, “A woman and a man came on a Splendor motorcycle at around 10.30 am. The man stood outside the victim’s residence and the woman went inside the house and shot Kanchan. The woman came out and both of them sped away on the bike.”
The victim had shifted to Shiv Sai Colony in Salarpur village only a fortnight ago and is said to be in a live-in with a man.
The house owner said the man and the woman introduced themselves as a married couple. The couple had not submitted any identification proof.
Police has taken the victim’s live-in partner, Kunal, into custody for questioning. Kunal reportedly told police that the woman met Kunal a few months ago in a bus.
“Kunal is a native of Kanpur and worked as cook in Noida. He said that he knew nothing more about the woman. We are still questioning him to get more information about the woman. He said that Kanchan was married to another man but left him and had been living separately,” the police officer said.
Police have registered a case of murder at Sector 39 police station.
Residents are being questioned to establish the identity of the armed woman and the man who accompanied her. Investigation team could not find any CCTV camera installed in area.
Ajay Kumar Singh, the station house officer of Sector 39 police station said, “The incident took place at around 10.30 am. As soon as we received information from the locals, we reached her residence and found the woman lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to nearby Yatharth hospital but was declared dead on arrival.”
