Baijal inspects Rani Jhansi Road flyover
After taking stock of the progress of the Rani Jhansi Grade separator project on Saturday, Lieutenant governor Anil Baijal instructed newly appointed North Delhi Municipal Corporation commissioner Madhup Vyaas to simultaneously undertake landscaping work under the flyover.
This was the fourth visit of Baijal to the site since May 2017. He asked the commissioner of North DMC to explore the possibility of a multilevel stack parking near the flyover to resolve the perennial need of adequate parking spaces.
“It will also help to ensure that areas that have been recovered from encroachment are not re-encroached at any cost,” Baijal said.
Later, Baijal chaired a meeting with all stakeholders to assess the present progress and status of the work at the project site office at DCM Chowk.
“Work is in full flow and will be completed by November 30 and there shall be no further revision of this deadline,” said Vyaas during the meeting.
During the visit, Baijal observed that a number of old vehicles have been parked around the site.
He directed North MCD and Delhi Police to remove all the vehicles parked from the site at the earliest.
“It should be ensured no drbris is thrown at the underconstruction site and cleanliness is maintained,” said Baijal.
The L-G said the drainage system and lighting work of the flyover should also be expedited and ensured, so as to complete the entire work in a time-bound manner.
