AFTER LOCAL LAWYERS REFUSED TO DEFEND ASHOK KUMAR, ROHTAK LAWYER OFFERS TO REPRESENT HIM

family members of main accused, Ashok Kumar, on Monday also sought a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the murder of Class 2 Ryan International School, Bhondsi, student. The family claimed he is innocent and has been framed by the school management.

Police had arrested 42-yearold Kumar, a bus conductor, on Friday a few hours after the incident happened in a toilet of the school. In another development, a criminal lawyer from Rohtak has offered to represent the accused after local lawyers refused to defend him.

Mohit Verma, 26-year-old Rohtak resident, who is a law graduate from Maharishi Dayanand University will be the defence counsel for the accused in the murder case.

“I had come to the village to meet the family of the accused after closely watching the case. I am sure the charges are framed on him and he has not committed the crime. A detailed investigation is required which will clear the status of the case and this is only possible when the CBI will be involved,” Verma told Hindustan Times at the accused’s house.

“He does not have a criminal mind else when he was asked to wipe the blood stains from the tiles and floor he would have refused. He innocently cleaned the stains,” Verma said.

The police have claimed that he is paralytic and walks with a limp. The family, however, claimed that if he was paralysed then how did he work as a driver in the former school. He cleared all the fitness tests. “My husband has no physical problem, he is fit and has no medical history,” said Mamta, Kumar’s wife.

The advocate visited Ryan International school, and also met the bus drivers.

“Kumar was the one who had rushed the child to the officiating principal’s car and that is the time when his clothes were stained in blood and he washed them only after the teacher asked him to clean,” said Verma.

The lawyer alleged that when the parents were not allowed to enter the school, how was the conductor allowed to use the same toilet.

Verma claimed that the first FIR was not registered against Kumar. If he was found guilty then the teachers are also equally responsible and should be booked under section 120 B (criminal conspiracy) as they are equally involved in destroying the pieces of evidence. The school management must have offered him financial help due to which he has agreed to take the onus of the crime on himself, Verma alleged.

The lawyer will meet Kumar on Wednesday. The accused will be produced in the Sohna Court on Tuesday after three days’ police remand.

The wife and sisters of the accused said he never let them scold his children and him murdering a child is beyond comprehension.
