Arvind Gupta DAV Centenary Public School, Model Town, recently organised an investitur­e ceremony. Students of today are torch-bearers of tomorrow. To develop responsibl­e human beings with leadership qualities, the school bestowed on its students the ability to be future leaders of the world. On one fine morning, the investitur­e ceremony was organised with enthusiasm. The function was presided over by Dr (Capt) Sanjay Kumar, associate professor NCC. The event was also graced by Pradeep Shekhar, assistant commission­er income tax department; Saroj Khanna, president, Rotary Club, Delhi Metro; Tushar Wadhwa and Karamveer Maan. The programme began with the DAV song followed by scintillat­ing performanc­es by students. Dr (Capt) Kumar, SR Arora and his spouse, manager Nanak Chand, Dr Khanna along with the alumni Pradeep Shekhar, Tushar Wadhwa and Karamveer Maan conferred badges on the student leaders. This was followed by an oath-taking ceremony of the office bearers. The student council promised to take the school to greater heights. Dignitarie­s congratula­ted the newly-appointed prefects and appreciate­d the efforts put in by the school management for providing opportunit­ies to the students. On the occasion, they emphasised on the importance of discipline and exhorted them to uphold values such as respecting teachers and parents. They also laid emphasis upon on the importance of leadership in life. Winners of numerous competitio­ns held at various levels were awarded by the guest. The event ended with the prefects promising to do their best. The function concluded with the National Anthem.
