BADMINTON TOURNAMENT

Mata Gujri Public School, G.K.I recently organised its second Choudhary Surinder Singh Memorial Inter-school Badminton Tournament (under 17) for both boys and girls. This four-day tournamnt witnessed the participat­ion of a team of 21 boys and a team of 18 girls from various schools of Delhi. The occasion was graced by Sd. Manjeet Singh GK, president of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee. Chairman Sd. Balbir Singh Kohli and principal Daljeet

Kaur Bhandari welcomed the guest of honour. The winning teams were awarded with certificat­es, medals and shields. The teacher in-charges of winning teams were also honoured with mementoes.

Sector-15, Gurugram, recently organised an investitur­e ceremony for the newly-elected council. The programme began with a speech of gratitude by the head girl. This was followed by the handing-over ceremony after which the newly-elected council members were conferred badges and sashes by the director and the principal. The oath of office was administer­ed by the head boy for the session. Principal Rashmi Malik wished the newly elected council best of luck for their endeavours. She laid stress on the fact that a leader must first conquer oneself in order to overcome all the challenges and difficulti­es before him. Director Major Kohli told new council members how to become effective leaders in order to complete the tasks set before them to the best of their abilities. The event concluded with the speeches by new head boy and girl.
