PARENT-TEACHER MEET

-

Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Sonia

Vihar, recently held a parent-teacher meet to discuss the performance of students. The main aim of the initiative was to reach out to parents of economically deprived students in a bid to make them aware of the importance of education. Besides, another aim was to create a common platform where both parents and teachers, key role-players in the life of children, can come together to enrich students’ educational experiences and discuss relevant issues. During that meeting, parents were given feedback on their wards’ performance in the unit test. They were advised to cooperate with the school in fulfilling the school code of conduct and also to ensure that their wards attend the school regularly with punctuality since 75% attendance is compulsory for appearing in final examination. The parents also did their bit in suggesting that school should take steps to inculcate the reading habits among children so that they spend their time in a constructive manner while at home. Parents were also informed about the non- applicability of no-detention policy in Class 9 as well as the inclusion of whole syllabus in final examination. They were requested to regularly check the books and notebooks of their warda to ensure that the content of the school bag of their ward happens to be in conformity with the class time table. Overall, it was a huge success. The parent-teacher meeting ended on the commendable note that the progress of the students depends on the joint efforts of parents and teachers.
