It seems to be an essential check that has to be put in place, because unlike regular stores, almost anything and everything is just a click away in the online world. All may, however, not always be right with online shopping Deliveries may falter, the money trail might go cold and customers may be left with a bad experience. “You can’t feel the fabric of clothes while buying online, there is no provision totrying on a particular dress. At times the end result can be disappoint­ing.” said Aishwarya Kaushal, class 10, Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, Gurugram.

Online shopping has an effect similar to social media. It connects people but at the behest of human relationsh­ips. The trust fostered by a regular shopkeeper, the personal touch that is rallied forth, even to a commercial end, is something that an online catalogue clearly lacks. The amicable grocer who greets you in the morning, the didactic bookseller citing names in an attempt to tempt your fancy, the weekly evening bazaar teeming with familiar faces are as much about communal friendship as they are about commodity exchange. Most, even youngsters, are against going totally digital.the corporeal touch of an object and the assured words of a trusted person is still required to strike a balance.
